Otsukai shopping service officially integrates into Mercari

Written by Ross Locksley on 17 Jul 2025

For those unfamiliar, Otsukai is a customer-to-customer shopping app that allows users to post items they desire in Japan, and for locals to make offers. There's no obligation and it's proven to be a useful app for those looking to find rarities from an active seller base.

Today it was announced that Otsukai will be integrated into the flea-market app Mercari, allowing international users to buy products from that platform too.

Otsukai was launched in 2018 and has over 180,000 members, while Mercari has been active since 2013, hosting items from 23 million monthly users. By combining the platforms, it opens up all those goodies to an international audience.
