Hear the song of Alus

Big West have announced via X that the soundtrack for Macross II has been released globally on streaming platforms such as Youtube Music and Spotify. The series, which found more success in the West than it did in Japan, was the introduction to a lot of fans of the much-loved Macross franchise - it was released in the UK by Kiseki on three 2-episode VHS tapes.

There are some great ballads between the two available albums, Mou Ichido Love You is a relaxed lounge piece and the opening, Okunen mae no Youni Shizukadane still brings the nostalgic feels. And the VF-2SS is still one of the best Valkyrie designs in the franchise history. Fight me.

The series is due for a remastered re-release by Animeigo later this year, with a host of bonus goodies in their "Lovers Again Alus Edition" that are still available on their website if you're interested. The Blu Ray is region-free.

Youtube Music:
Macross II Vol.1
Macross II Vol, 2

Spotify:
Macross II Vol.1
Macross II Vol. 2
