Funimation and Crunchyroll Merge

Written by Ross Locksley on 01 Mar 2022

Today Funimation and Crunchyroll have announced that, in a seemingly inevitable move, the two services are combining their libraries to make one "Ultimate" service for all your streaming anime needs.

For fans, this means a streamlining of your monthly payments to a single service. If you're an existing Funimation customer with no Crunchyroll account, you'll be eligible for a 60 Day Free Trial of the Crunchyroll platform.

As yet, Funimation digital copies, watch histories and queues have yet to be imported, but the FAQ has stated that these are slated to be ported across.

All new seasons will be exclusive to Crunchyroll, and you'll be able to watch 80% of Funimation's content on Crunchyroll by the end of March.

There's also a launch trailer to get you in the mood:
